From USA to Australia… and finally they arrived where they should belong, home.

I’ve been waiting for those parts to renew my laptop Well, I spent 3 hours with help from my bros and my wife to take the old parts and fit the new ones.

Have a look by yourself:

I’ve been using Ubuntu for 2 years but yet I abandoned it… Just now I come back to it.
My bro asked me why should I use Vista when all things I could do in Ubuntu also… yeah come to think about it I am just lazy to move my files and so on.

Last week my Ubuntu 9.10 is set up on my worn out laptop (some plastic break, cdrom hardly work, battery last for 20 seconds.. due to old age), well I did spent sometime to configure it with help from my brother, Ken, and Ubuntu forum before it come to my liking.

Now I have all apps I want with my daily life usage; Handbrake, Skype, VLC (no flick when playing with compiz on), ktorrent, Amarok.
To fix the video playing issue, I enable "Sync to VBlank" in nVidia and in CompizConfig Settings Manager (you need to install this manager if it doesn’t come default).

P.S. I left my Vista for playing games and some small thing which I can not do in linux.

^ Droid Milestone

These are our toys, the Milestone is mine and the Magic is belong to my wife.

Impression:

• The HTC Magic has nice UI (Sense UI) running android 1.5, and has a very responsive screen.. nice phone all around.

• My Moto Milestone has larger screen, good loudspeaker, running rooted 2.0.1 with custom apps from 2.1. It is more battery hungry, But it doesn’t bug me, I like it a lot.

Update:

Even though I love my Milestone, I hesitate to recommend it to Android lover since Motorola Milestone’s bootloader, kernel,… are digitally signed it is likely impossible to flash custom ROM to it.

Who want an Android locked phone? No freedom heh? Anyway I learn this news after I bought mine.

It’s been a long while but I’m lazy to post. Here for you to enjoy? How is my fiancee?

Lately I’ve been search for a new mobile phone… well I haven’t change mine for so long. And now, something inside me said it’s just not right. That might be changing them is my hobby…

By the way I didn’t buy any new phone yet, I wait for my hero to come… well it might not an htc hero… I’m waiting for Samsung i7500.
